ABOUT

Gia Wahle is a Korean ceramic artist based in California, whose work explores the nuanced experiences of womanhood. Working primarily in porcelain, her practice spans both figurative and abstract forms, and reflect themes of identity, transformation, and endurance. Each piece is rooted in material sensitivity and emotional clarity, inviting reflection rather than explanation. Her work has been recognized through exhibitions, awards, and publications. Outside the studio, she enjoys traveling, baking, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is a reflection of the quiet complexity I see in women’s lives—how we move between softness and strength, beauty and burden, presence and invisibility. As an artist, I am drawn to the tension between what is seen and what is felt. I try to give form to the inner landscape of womanhood, with all its contradictions and grace.
